Metamorphoses of "K-77"
On the morning of March 25th 2002, the tugboat Point Valiant came up to the Juliett-484 submarine and secured her rope to the stern. The customs and port authorities gave the green light, and the seers-off left the boat. It cast off at exactly 10.00, when the heavy-duty tugboat Hemlock pulled the 4000-ton colossus out of Halifax harbor. Their course was set for Providence, Rhode Island, USA, which was ordained to be the final refuge of the sub, this time as a museum display. The Gulf of Maine was deemed impassable due to a disturbing meteorological report, and the bad weather had to waited out in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, in other words still in Canada. In a day, the good company moved on, reaching its destination on a clear April 1st morning.
